What is this course about?

This course is about the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act. The Act is a new law which gives support to people when they want to make decisions.

What will you learn when you do this course?

  • The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
  • You will learn how to use the law to make your decisions..
  • You will learn about the rules of the law called the Guiding Principles.
  • You will learn about assisted decision making.
  • You will learn how to use the law to make future decisions.
  • You will learn about a new service called the Decision Support Service.
  • You will learn what you can do if you are not happy about the support you get when making your decisions.
